Digital Impressions
The iTero scanner uses advanced technology to capture high-resolution 3D images of a patient’s teeth. These images are then used to create precise digital models for planning and crafting various dental restorations, such as crowns, bridges, veneers, and orthodontic appliances.
It also allows us to provide instant simulations during Invisalign consultations, giving patients a clear vision of their potential results.iTero scanners are valued for their precision, speed, and user-friendliness.
They offer significant advantages over traditional impression methods, including enhanced patient comfort, reduced errors and adjustments, improved accuracy, and the ability to instantly visualize the 3D impression.
Cerec
CEREC technology is an innovative method for designing and fabricating dental restorations such as crowns, bridges, veneers, and inlays using computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) tools. This allows restorations to be created directly in the dental office, often in a single visit, eliminating the need for multiple appointments and traditional impressions.
The process begins with a digital impression of the tooth to be restored, captured using an intraoral camera. The CEREC design software then allows us to create a customized restoration on a computer screen, tailored precisely to the patient’s tooth specifications. Once the design is complete, the data is sent to an in-office milling unit, where the restoration is crafted from a ceramic or zirconia block.
The final restoration is then placed in the patient’s mouth, typically on the same day.CEREC technology offers numerous advantages, including speed, precision, and convenience for patients, along with high aesthetic quality for dental restorations. It has revolutionized how dentists perform restorations and continues to evolve, delivering even better solutions for patients and practitioners alike.
Digital X-Rays
Digital X-rays in dentistry are a modern diagnostic imaging method that uses electronic sensors to capture detailed images of teeth and bones. Unlike traditional X-rays that rely on film, digital X-rays allow images to be viewed instantly on a computer screen, offering several benefits, including reduced radiation exposure, improved patient comfort, faster clinical decision-making, and enhanced image quality.
This technology has become an invaluable tool for accurate dental diagnosis and treatment planning.
CT Scan or 3D X-Ray
A CT scan, or Computed Tomography (CT), is a medical imaging technique that combines X-rays and computer technology to create detailed cross-sectional images. This allows us to obtain highly accurate 3D images of the oral and dental regions.
CT scans are utilized in various areas of dentistry, including implantology, surgery, endodontics, orthodontics, pathology, and dental trauma. They provide practitioners with a deeper understanding of the anatomical structure of the mouth and surrounding areas, enabling precise treatment planning and improved clinical outcomes.
While CT scans do involve exposure to a very low dose of radiation, the diagnostic benefits typically outweigh the risks, making this technology an invaluable tool in modern dentistry.
